From a Different Bend In the Road – About this blog in ’08

dsc00665I journey in a pursuit of wholeness, connectedness, and compassion. Two elements are essential to me as I walk this spiritual path: wisdom and balance. I can state these goals succinctly, and I may experience a few more sustained moments of clarity, but I still find myself getting swept along by the maelstrom of life and worry when my anchor loses its loving hold in my soul.

I am a part-time writer and healing artist in training with a full-time day job at a college library. Constantly I try to balance the tensions between my dreams and the obligations that keep me grounded. Though I want to spend all my time on fiction and energy healing and soul work and creating a beautiful home, I must also plant myself firmly in the “reality” of what must be done right now. Someday I hope to exist in all of my various worlds without worrying about that “tension.”

I write in this space because I can only begin to find peace and true vision by articulating what I observe of myself and the world around me. While I seek to move through life with a deepening sense of awareness, I need words to root me in my experience and remind me of my sense of purpose. I can only hope that I can connect with those on similar paths and that my loops of language may help someone, somewhere on his or her own way.

I came to your site because of Christine’s recommendation on her blisschick site. My quest, somewhat like you describe yours, has led me to write my Yoga book-blog http://www.myyogabook.wordpress.com.

I’m subscribing to your blog and I look forward to catching up on your past posts.

    Dear Bob,
Isn’t Blisschick the best? Thanks so much for visiting my site. I had a look at your book project and really look forward to reading more. What a wonderful way to elicit the wisdom of a community of yoga practitioners.

Oh, an I think I fixed the RSS thing – thanks so much for the head’s up!

Hi. I’ve just been going back and catching up on past blogging contacts. Just after I wrote my comment above back in November I became heavily involved in the Yoga Journal Community (http://community.yogajournal.com/reweis) and I’ve added many of my blogs from there to my WordPress site (www.myyogabook.wordpress.com).

I enjoy your writing and now I’m watching selected blogs on my Google reader, so I should be back in touch.

    Best wishes.

    Bob W.
